Rowdy the Heartbreaker

OK folks, more often than I’d like I come across stories that plain break my heart. Rowdy’s story is a sad one, but I think we can help to change that.

Rowdy is a 10-year-old Australian Shepherd in Palisade, CO, who is athletic, smart and healthy. He’s looking for a new home because his Mom was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. He’s used to living on a 4 acre property, and being his owner’s companion on camping and hiking trips. I’m told that you would never think that Rowdy (true to his name) is 10 years old. He loves to run the fence-line when trains pass by, and gets along great with people. He’d do best in a home with no small children, and perhaps as the only pet, as he’s known to chase cats.

If you are interested in adopting Rowdy, please leave a comment with you’re email, and I’ll connect you with Rowdy’s owner.

Mary works for Castor & Pollux Natural PetWorks, heading up the company's social media. She's grown up with pets all her life, the majority of them rescued strays. She has 3 dogs - Merlyn the Scottie, Maverick the Westie, and Monty the Lhasa Apso. She also has 4 goldfish, but they aren't nearly as loud, fun, or messy as her boys! She loves to take her dogs to the Hood River, OR and Manzanita Beach, where they can timidly test out the waters and annoy people on picnic blankets.

I currently have an Aussie who is about 5 or 6, he is tri colored, neutered male that I reseued three years ago. I am from CO, but currently live in Santa Fe. I also havea Golden Retriever who is 7….they are very dog friendly and could keep this guy company. If he hasn’t already found a home, please email me. thank you!

I have a 6 year old Aussie named Rowdy. I also have a 17 year old rescue aussie, named Ginger. If I did not live so far away, I would not hesitate to take in this guy. I live on a farm in Ohio. I hope he gets a great home. Senior dogs are incredible.

We had an Aussie named Rowdy.
He looked similar to your Rowdy.
He passed in 2008, 3 days before his 14th birthday.
Mandy our sweet Border Collie Mix still misses him.
WE bought another Black tri-color male in early 2009. Brady.
We tried rescue groups all over the country.
They always had excuses, why they couldn’t adopt the dogs out, that they were advertising
My wife & I live in Florida. We would like to know more about Rowdy. Distance in adopting an Aussie is no restriction for us.

We live in Florida, but if Rowdy needs a home,
    we can give him one.
